Last week the Norwegian Sun arrival kicked off the summer cruise season out of Seattle.   The Port of Seattle projects over 1.1 million cruise passengers will pass through the port this year.   Last year was a record-breaking year as Seattle has the second largest cruise port on the West Coast.   Alaska is the largest destination for cruise ship and passengers wanting to see nature and wildlife.

Like most embarkation ports, cruise passengers bring an influx of tourism money into the city of Seattle.  Last year, 40 million visitors came to the city which continues to grow for the past eight years.

Vacation Hacker Tips

Seattle is a great town to visit!  If you are going on a cruise out of Seattle, plan on arriving a day or two early or stay an extra couple of days.    Make sure you visit the Space Needle which is going through renovations at the moment (see http://www.seewhatsup.space/ for updates).   Make sure you get reservations to the restaurant on top of the Space Needle, the Sky City restaurant, as soon as you know you’re going to Seattle.   Make sure you visit the Boeing plant where airplanes are being built.   Our family loves the Duck Rides (http://www.ridetheducksofseattle.com/).
