When you think of epic trips a cruise around the world comes to mind. Viking Cruises has announced such a trip starting on August 31, 2019. The Viking Sun will debark from London, England on its 245 day adventure, which will visit every continent except Antarctica.
Last week the Norwegian Sun arrival kicked off the summer cruise season out of Seattle. The Port of Seattle projects over 1.1 million cruise passengers will pass through the port this year. Last year was a record-breaking year as Seattle has the second largest cruise port on the West Coast.
For the 12th time out of 15 inspections, the Disney Dream received a perfect health score. The perfect 100 inspection score occurred earlier this month while docked at Port Canaveral. The Disney Dream went into services in 2011 and maintain a high level of health safety since it’s inauguration.
MSC is hoping to cash in on the expected booming cruise market of Asia by basing the new MSC Bellissima in the area during its inaugural season. The MSC Bellissima mega ship will be the largest cruise ship in the region, sailing from China and Japan in 2020.
What a week for Norwegian Cruise Line! The delivery of the new Bliss and CEO Andy Stuart talking about the next ship building opportunities for Norwegian has created a stir in the cruise industry.
The Reykjavík Harbour Authority expects 167 cruise ships to visit Iceland, with 147,000 passengers in 2018. The number of ships visiting Iceland has doubled in the last 10 years and the number is expected to increase as 178 port of calls have been scheduled for 2019.
Royal Caribbean has figured out how to make the Symphony of the Seas cruise ship more fuel efficient by consuming 25% less fuel than the slightly smaller Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas ships. The Symphony of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world.
The United States Coast Guard is looking for a man that went “intentionally” overboard on Friday around 4 PM according to sources. Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas initially circled back and looked for the overboard passengers, before eventually moving towards their destination port in New Jersey.
The MSC Armonia plowed into the pier this morning in Roatan. Numerous videos show the MSC cruise ship approaching the port at a higher than normal rate of speed for docking.
The Legend is the next ship scheduled in Carnival’s fleet to get many of the Fun Ship 2.0 upgrades that has already been rolled out too many of her sister ships. The multimillion dollar will include major upgrades and refurbishment. The Carnival Ledge is scheduled to enter dry dock May 1 until May 14.
One passenger on the NCL Epic won’t forget Tuesday, March 6th when she fell overboard while taking a selfie. The NCL Epic was on the final night of a four-night cruise sailing out of Port Canaveral. The ship had just left the Bahamas five earlier after having stops in Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay. Passengers reported the ship moving quickly to make it back to their debarkation port when the ship slowed down.
The newest Royal Caribbean ship Symphony of the Sea concluded its latest sea trails on February 18th. During the four-day sea trials, the new ship travel over 1,000 nautical miles during the 80 hours voyage. The ship is in the final stages of completion and is scheduled to be delivered to Royal Caribbean late March.
Carnival has announced a first for West Coast cruise enthusiast. The new ship Carnival Panorama will make it home port Long Beach, California. The new large 3,960 passenger ship will debut in 2019. The 133,500-ton ship replace the Carnival Splendor.

Since selling our business, we have been blessed to travel around the world.
